Achieve a Safer, Easier and More Comfortable Birth
Parents amazing birthing stories
Our web site tells you what we do, why and how we do it. But only our mums and dads can tell you that we
are good at it, so we have included here some of the many comments and messages that we have received from parents who have given birth using hypnosis, visualization, breathing exercises and more…who have benefited from our expertise.
I would highly recommend Aisling’s course to lots of expectant Mums! Why shouldn’t Mums and Dads be excited
and looking forward to welcoming their little ones to the world instead of being anxious and nervous. It will be fantastic when the day comes when every Mum can have a hypnobirthing birth!
We learned to trust our bodies and our minds; we gained confidence and reassurance, to have a safe birth, which was filled with calmness, relaxation and beautiful baby bonding!

Aisling, Our Baby Daughter’s birth was Wonderful. Really wonderful.
We arrived to Our Lady of Lourdes at 11.15am - and she arrived at 1.11pm - and interestingly, she was born in what is known as 'The Caul'. The surges were steady, and didn't really kick in until about 11.30am. Then I had some gas around 12.30...and hey presto, out she popped! The first words that I uttered upon her arrival
(when she immediately rested on my chest) were 'am I dreaming? Has she really arrived? That was a pleasure’!
It really was amazing - and sometimes I lay in bed at night and think about it and feel very happy indeed.
Hypno-birthing is amazing - and we cannot thank you enough for teaching this very calm birthing method to us so very brilliantly and for guiding me through another wonderful pregnancy and birth.
We hope you are very well and hope to meet you again one day in the not too distant.

Aisling, we have had the most fantastic experience of our lives. The whole labour was 2 hrs and 30 mins. By the time I realised I was in labour the surges were coming close together. We tried to time them but there was no pattern. I needed to concentrate but it was entirely manageable, much more comfortable then I had imagined.
I was not able to talk during the surges, but felt confident and comfortable. I am so glad I had the hypnobirthing techniques.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aisling thank you so much for all your support and positivity- it certainly rubbed off on us!
The breathing I learnt made me feel very comfortable. My husband massaged my back during the surges and this helped so much too. When the midwife arrived, the surges were constant and I felt the urge to push.
I concentrated on breathing the baby down, and the techniques you thought me worked really well.
We had planed to use a birth pool, but before we knew it she was born. I felt her head with my hand and was so intent on her well being that I just concentrated very hard on my breathing and it was so much easier then I ever imagined. I was never afraid and never in unbearable pain. We were overjoyed and in shock that it had all been
so simple. Next time I would not think twice about it and I will be back for a refresher course.

Hello Aisling, Hope you are well. Just wanted to drop you a note to say that our little boy arrived safe and sound.
Many thanks for the refresher session on HypnoBirthing. Everything went wonderfully well.
Surges started at 11:30 pm and all was going quite calmly when suddenly at 2am I got a gut feeling and decided we needed to go to the hospital right away. It was just as well, whatever instinct kicked in... the hospital is a
four minute drive from our house and I had two surges in the car, one in the parking lot, one in the admissions office, one in the lift, etc. etc. Suffice to say 38 minutes is only just enough time to find a midwife and a room!
It was a great birth and I couldn't believe it all happened so quickly.
Many thanks again for the refresher course. I am recommending you and HypnoBirthing to everyone I meet! Thanks again and best regards,
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aisling you have been in my thoughts for the last 7 weeks and big apologies if I write only now....
Our son was born a week after our last meeting: a happy little boy who worked with me during the delivery!
Everything happened in a fast and safe manner: he was born in 2 hours and 40 minutes from beginning to end.
Many many thanks for teaching us a confident and comfortable way of giving birth to our boy. I am talking about
you to all my good friends who are in a "fertile age" and I would not be surprised if somebody will make contact
with you.
Keep inspiring people with your technique Aisling as it did work for us.
(You are a good one!! :) With many thanks

I know you told me I’d be busy! My birth went remarkably well, besides some gas and air, I managed extremely well. There wasn't a peep out of me! My reward was a lovely little girl, she's as good as gold, bless her,
Thank you for all your help and support.

Aisling Just a quick note to let you know that I gave birth to a baby girl.
It worked very well for me during pre-labour - so much so that a mid wife commented on how calm I was when taking my pulse.
My waters broke and contained meconium, so unfortunately I ended up in the ante natal ward again, but it was a far calmer experience for me this time round – the relaxation techniques helped me block everything else out. Pre labour was 11hours and I dilated in 20 mins which is a very different story to my first birth. I felt calm throughout and had a much better experience this time round.
I would like to thank you for all your help in showing me how to have a calmer birth story.

Hi Aisling, Have been meaning to get in touch!
The birth was great, no epidural and dilated from 1cm to 10cm in 90 minutes! Waters broke at 1am, went home
at 4am. Went back to bed, then had breakfast, started getting contractions at 8am, relaxed listened to cds and practiced breathing. We were at home until 4.30. Arrived at hospital at 5pm and then our baby daughter arrived
at 7.41pm. It was a great experience!
Thank you so much for your assistance, have been recommending you to all my expecting friends.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aisling Thanks so much for the turn baby turn CD. That night at about 2am I started getting little cramps, I was getting the pain in my back that you hear about, because baby was posterior!
I felt a bit defeated as I knew posterior labours were much longer so these were pre labour pains. Tried to do my breathing as much as I could, but at around 7 am we decided to go to the hospital, When we got there I told the nurse there’s not much point in checking me cause I was sure I hadn't started to dilate.
I thought there was going to be another two days of the pain just getting worse and worse so I would have taken anything! I felt like such a wuss. The midwife then looked very surprised and told me I was 8 centimetres dilated! Crazy, I didn't even think I was in labour yet.
Gave birth to a little girl an hour later at 8:50 in three pushes, five minutes or something, and I didn't tear at all.
I didn't think the breathing was working but it obviously was! I had spent all day on all fours trying to turn her round, and listened to your cd loads of times, it all worked brilliantly. If she hadn't been posterior I don't know if
I would have felt anything. She turned in the end too. She’s amazing. We're so happy it happened the way we wanted. Thanks again for everything.

We were very excited expecting our first baby and wanted to know as much as possible about what we could do
to bond with our little one in the womb and help prepare us for a healthy, safe and relaxing as possible birth.
At one of our visits to the Holles Street Domino midwives it was recommended to us that we should look into Hypnobirthing. As soon as I read the book I had to know more, I knew that Hypnobirthing was what I wanted for my baby and myself. That is when we came across Aisling and her course.
I suppose the main thing we got from Aisling’s hypnobirthing course is the reassurance and confidence to give
birth to our beautiful child in the most relaxing way possible. The relaxing techniques we had practised with Aisling
I was able to keep myself really focused and relaxed during the whole birth. The midwives could not believe how calm and focused I stayed during the 8 hours! They could see how much work I had put into the relaxation techniques during pregnancy. Another thing I love about hypnobirthing is the deep bond you have with your baby
in the womb and afterwards. Our baby is very relaxed, happy and placid and this we are sure this has to do with
all the relaxing we did with when he was in the womb!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Just a note to say thank you so much for all your help with the hypnobirthing. We both found the whole experience amazing and totally positive. We'll be back for a refresher on our next baby!!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We both really enjoyed both classes 3 and 4 especially the relaxation and fear release work that we did! I really feel the fear release worked for me as I was able to let go off those niggling little negative thoughts at the back of my mind and now I feel totally confident, ready and excited for labour! Thank you so much! Hope to see you again soon to tell you all about our positive birth experience!! Thank you for your encouragement and kindness!

Hi Aisling, I hope you are well. Just wanted to let you know how fantastic the Turn Baby Turn technique is!
I had my ante-natal check up this morning and the baby is of course in the correct position for birth!
After listening to the CD the 1st time I felt really relaxed and approx half an hour later I felt my baby trying to turn,
it went on for about 15/20 mins and obviously turned fully around! Thank you so much for sending the CD to me
and it makes me even more confident now for the birth! Really excited now! I will let you know how everything goes.

Please forgive my delay in writing to you following the birth of our little daughter. Though it has taken me this

"Just a quick e mail to say thank you so much for all your valuable help and experience of taking me through every
stage of Hypnobirthing. I don’t know what I would have done without the relaxation tape and all the advice and guidance you gave me throughout our sessions. Thanks again for everything."

Hi Aisling, Apologies for taking so long to let you know how I got on, on the birth day!
My due date was 16th Feb, and on 15th I was swimming and got some cramps but thought nothing of it. During the
early morning of 16th around 4am I woke up with more cramps, I tried to sleep until around six and then I noticed a
little spotting, I was due to see my doctor at 5pm on 16th and went back to sleep at 9am his secretary called with a cancellation appointment for 11am, by that time I knew things were starting so was glad of the appointment. The doc took a quick peep and told me 12/24 hours he thought he would see me around midnight, he told me when I couldn't talk through the contractions that I should go in. Outside the surgery I got a bigger surge, then went for a walk on the beach and my husband noticed that they were getting stronger and coming faster, so we went home, I listened to your
cd did a bit of yoga and then had one huge surge followed quickly by another, so we headed for Holles street at this stage it was 2.45, I was admitted at 3.20 and my surges were getting stronger and I had the urge to go to the loo!..
eventually we got outside the delivery room and I had a huge one again, a very kind nurse came over to me and told me
I was doing great and I subsequently found out that she rushed into the delivery room and said there is a woman about to have a baby in the hall!.
I was brought in, and they couldn't examine me as I kept having surges so when they did examine me my waters broke on their own and I was eight cms! to say I was thrilled was an understatement and I thought it was just over! 5 mins later I was ten cms I found the pushing very hard (oh by the way no pain relief at all nothing!), the baby’s head was just about to crown and then he went back in again this went on for an hour, they won't let you go longer and then unfortunately I had to have an episo, but our little boy arrived within seconds, six pounds on the button and all well at 5pm, so I hour forty mins from admission.
The whole experience was wonderful, I was totally prepared for the surges but I don't think anyone can quite prepare
you for the pushing as one cannot practice it!.
Eight months on and our little boy, is a joy, very good natured and happy and we are loving it, I breastfeed him for six months and now he is getting some independence and loving that too! Many thanks to you for all your help.
My husband was really blown away by it all, and at one point he felt he needed the epidural! I couldn't get over the
speed of it all and to arrive bang on my due date too!.. we surprised everyone, I luckily got to the Merrion wing too and didn't take any visitors for the first day so I would recommend that to everyone too, it just gave the three of us time to get used to get other!.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks Aisling...After you sent me the turn baby turn CD I listened to it and about 30 mins later I was sitting at
my laptop and felt my baby grab the walls of my womb, pulling and turning around into the correct position, it was amazing! Really amazing! I think he must have kept his hands above his head as I felt finger tips moving for the next couple of weeks.
I was able to stay completely focused and relaxed all the time, it was fantastic. Our sons birth was drug free
which was really important to me. I had my iPod glued to my ears with your CDs playing non stop! If my iPod had blown I think I would have jumped out the window! J Julie our midwife told me to tell you how amazing she
thought the relaxation techniques were! She was very impressed! Here is to an even easier time, next time
and hoping the next little baby doesn’t dive down with hands on head!

Hi Aisling, Our beautiful baby daughter was born weighing 8 lb 9 ounces and we are absolutely delighted with
her. Labour took a total time of 3 hours so I thought you might be interested to hear some feedback on how we
got on.
I was overdue and booked in for an induction, whilst I had some reservations about being induced; I knew my
baby was almost ready to arrive as I had been experiencing contractions for a few days prior to this.
These contractions I breathed through and felt I dealt with really well. At 9.20 am on Saturday the they broke
my waters. (I was past the gel stage already).
Things started to happen around 15 minutes later and I started to breathe through the surges with my husband supporting me all the time. We were light hearted about it in the beginning as I was delighted as I knew if this
was starting already, I wouldn't need the drip which I really did not want. I listened to your rainbow relaxation on my iPod which kept me calm. The birth plan was extremely important as otherwise I feel the staff would have
taken over completely. Whereas with the written plan, they consulted me more on everything they were about to do. We went to the delivery suite after around 2 hours later.
I think the staff didn't know what to make of me as I was obviously in advanced labour fairly quickly, but without any pain relief whatsoever and yet not a word out of me through each surge. After another while in the delivery suite, I wondered if I should ask for gas and air as things were getting a little tough for me. (In hindsight I know that this was the point where they say in the hypnobirthing book when you think you can't go on, birth is only around the corner).Suddenly, intuitively, I felt the need to move from my sitting position to all fours. The staff seemed a little alarmed and asked if I needed to push. I wasn't really aware at that point that I was in fact ready
to give birth. After a minute or two I was gently pushing my little baby out.
Around 5-10 minutes later, she was born - it was 12.31 pm. I was so happy, relieved and proud of myself. There were two students with the midwife who seemed very impressed with me too. One of them said that I would be her role model from now on! She said I looked so peaceful and serene the whole time. Baby latched on around
20 minutes later and has been feeding really well ever since. She is an angel and is extremely easy to mind.
I'm very well and came home from hospital the following day.
So, thank you so much for your help and I hope this feedback will be of use to your other mums to be.
Warm wishes.

Hi Aisling, Just to let you know that our beautiful water birth and our baby was born at home weighing in at 9lbs3oz. My waters went at 4pm and she was born (in the birthing pool which was fantastic) at 11.18pm.
I had my iPod on for most of the time and found the feathery back stroking great before I was in the pool.
All in all it was a fantastic experience and we're all delighted. Many thanks for all your help
